What am I working on?

My current project is a competitive, chaotic, multiplayer party game inspired by games like Rock of Ages 3 and Beyblade.

Players compete as boulders in different game modes on a variety of maps. At this point, FFA was the sole game mode, where players roll around to build speed and crash into their foes to deal damage.

This is a project that I'm working on as part of a team of 3, and we hope to commercially release this game on multiple platforms to help us kickstart our own game studio.

At this point, we fully implemented one game mode and map, as well as a lobby level that sets up the upcoming match.

We focused on refining our core mechanics and other major features before implementing new maps and game modes. This was to ensure a polished and cohesive experience that comes from a solid foundation.

We have already presented this demo several times, and the game has been received very well. It's always nice to hear people saying they had fun with our game!

Our development plan includes the addition of multiple unique maps, each with distinct hazards to make them stand out. We also plan to add more game modes, to increase the game's variety.

More items will also be added, these items can either help or hinder yourself and others, and will allow players to turn the tables, and will help make each round feel unique

Much further down the line, there is a plan to implement online multiplayer (currently only features local multiplayer), and cosmetics/more customisation options such as skins and hats.

After applying to Tranzfuser, development continued. Code has been optimised, balancing changes implemented, and most excitingly - new features! Two new game modes have been added, Hot Potato and Gem Rush join FFA to make three game modes.

Other notable changes include a shrinking storm in the FFA mode to force players closer over time to maximise chaos. Watch the adjacent video to see more improvements.
